Enjoy a unique spa experience at The Beer Spa in Denver. Our infrared saunas use modern-day technology that far surpasses a traditional sauna experience. Sit back, relax, and soak up The Beer Spa’s infrared sauna’s healthy, healing heat. This technique improves your wellness by encouraging your body to detox, sweat, and alleviate tense muscles.
Traditional saunas involve heating the temperature of the room to kickstart the body’s perspiration. The original process works with wet or dry heat. Either steam gets poured on hot rocks or outside dry air gets pumped in.
Infrared saunas utilize infrared waves that penetrate straight to the cellular level of your body. This raises your core body temperature and detoxifies your body through sweat. With an increase in your body’s core temperature, your sweat comes from internal processes rather than external heat.
A Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna experience affects the cells and purges toxins from the inside out. Infrared light is a wavelength from the sun known as Far Infrared Radiation. It’s invisible to the human eye and a part of the sun’s light spectrum. It does not contain UV rays though, so it is not harmful to the human body.
Sunlighten Infrared Saunas work by harnessing the safe parts of sunlight to raise your body’s heat thereby increasing your heart rate and enhancing your circulation. It helps improve skin elasticity, promotes healing, and can even help with weight loss.

According to clinical studies done on infrared therapy, there are numerous Infrared Sauna benefits. Infrared heat saunas start the sweating process from within, so you get the experience of a relaxing sauna while reaping health benefits, too.
The release of sweat and toxins from your body helps promote skin softness. In addition, infrared rays can help clear up acne and firm skin against wrinkles by keeping your body feeling light and clear.
Saunas increase heart rates and an infrared sauna can help you burn calories while simply resting. The increased heart rate caused by the infrared rays tricks your body into thinking it’s taking part in a cardio exercise.
A study done by the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that sitting in an infrared sauna could help you burn up to 600 calories in a thirty-minute session. Sweating is connected to systems in the body that require a lot of energy to keep up.
During a sauna experience at The Beer Spa, your heart rate increases making your body feel as it does during exercise. With your pulse lifted, it expands your blood vessels and improves overall circulation. This relieves the tension in your body and allows pain to fade away.
Some studies have shown that using infrared therapy for injured athletes as regular care has boosted their recovery time and eased their pain.
As more studies find the direct correlation, those who have regular far infrared therapy sessions have experienced faster muscle recovery.

The Beer Therapy Room is the highlight of The Beer Spa, which you’ll get to enjoy during your infrared sauna appointment. This modern, luxurious room fits one to two people. Each room has an infrared sauna, rain shower, and beer bath hydrotherapy tub.
Start your Beer Therapy Circuit with a 20-minute infrared sauna session. The sauna allows you to sweat out all of your toxins and opens up the pores. This will prepare your skin to soak up all of the benefits of the beer bath’s hops, malted barley, and herbs.
Benefits include:
To get the full wellness experience, you’ll spend 20 minutes in the sauna to detox, then take a cold shower to keep your blood flowing. After your cold shower, you will spend the remainder of your time relaxing in your beer bath.
The taproom offers various craft beverages from local Colorado producers. We even host a tap takeover with a different Colorado brewery each month! Of course, beer isn’t everyone’s thing, so we also offer ciders, wine, kombucha, teas, and more non-alcoholic beverages.
You can start your experience at The Beer Spa in the taproom or wait until after your treatment to kick back with a beverage. If you choose to enjoy a drink in your beer Therapy Room you can keep it cold and fresh in one of our special triple insulated tumblers.
The Beer Spa provides a safe and sanitized environment. We take pride in our strict cleaning procedures that keep each visit feeling like it’s the first time your Beer Therapy Room has been used.
There’s an hour period between each Beer Therapy Room to allow the staff to disinfect and deep clean the space. The ventilation allows for air turnover to keep it fresh and new for your session.

This was such a cool experience. All of the staff were wonderful and accommodating. My husband and I plan to get a membership once it is available! The mix of the sauna and hop/barley bath made it a fun and relaxing experience. Highly recommend to anyone local or visiting from out of town!

Do you have more questions about infrared saunas? Let’s get all the answers so you can be prepared for your next spa experience!
A traditional sauna uses dry or wet heat from an outside source to warm the body. On the other hand, infrared saunas use infrared light waves to heat your skin and body from within.
Infrared saunas range from 100F to 170F. It’s recommended you start at a lower temperature and work your way up to a higher temperature if you are new to infrared therapy.
If it’s your first time, start with a 10-15 minute session. The recommended length of time to use an infrared sauna is 20-30 minutes, which you can achieve in a few separate sessions.
Once your body is accustomed to it, you can use an infrared sauna 3-4 times a week.
Since the sauna speeds up your heart rate and blood flow, you should consult with your doctor if you have heart, liver, or blood pressure issues before using an infrared sauna.
You’ll be sweating a lot while in the sauna so it’s common to feel lightheaded after the treatment. Drink a lot of water before and after the service to ensure you stay hydrated. Also, take it easy and rest your body after your time in the sauna to fully benefit from the sauna session.
The use of saunas while drinking is common worldwide. Using a sauna can dehydrate you very quickly, so you need to pay attention to how your body feels while drinking alcohol in a hot environment.
Drink lots of water and be mindful of the amount of alcohol consumed while enjoying your spa treatment to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. At The Beer Spa, we encourage drinking beer and other beverages in moderation to aid in the relaxation process. That being said, we don’t condone overindulging and reserve the right to cancel or cut an appointment short for anyone who appears intoxicated.
We’re not licensed to practice medicine so please consult with your physician for advice on which treatments are safe. In general, hot saunas are not recommended for those who are expecting. However, if your physician says it’s okay, please ask one of our Beer Therapists to lower the heat of the sauna to your desired temperature. It’s also strongly advised that you consult your physician prior to your visit especially if you’re in your first or third trimester.
